In most instances when buying an airline ticket to travel to a city or country outside of Latin America such as Canada, Asia or Europe, it may be necessary to travel through the United States in order to obtain the best airline ticket prices.  To travel through the United States, a passenger will need to be a US citizen or resident or have a current US Visa.
